Recently Thermal Imaging Cameras have began to become standard screening practices for many airports worldwide, in order to help spot a potentially infected person before they are allowed to spread the infection globally.

According to A Report to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

"During the SARS epidemic, widespread efforts were made to identify symptomatic international travelers and to prevent them from entering the U.S. and infecting others. This was accomplished through temperature checks of passengers at airports upon arrival, in some countries through the use of thermal imaging of passengers, and information given to all arriving international passengers to monitor their health and promptly report any symptoms to public health authorities. Similar measures were undertaken for maritime crews, passengers on cruise ships and ferries, as well as individuals at border crossings."

The ICI Series P and S Infrared Cameras, which provide capture of skin surface temperature of any part of the body, and the IR Flash Software version 1.0, which provides visualization and reporting functionalities, are intended for use as an adjunct to other clinical diagnostic procedures in the diagnosis, quantifying, and screening of relative skin surface temperature.
