Thermal Imaging as a Valuable Tool in Abnormal Tissue Detection Gains Scientific Acceptance

Once thought of as alternative medicine, the use of a Digital Thermographic Camera to detect early indications of breast cancer as well as developing disease states is now accepted as an additional diagnostic tool in mainstream medical practice.

Technology evaluation groups and the FDA have declared the process a safe, non-invasive diagnostic technique. Thermography is not new in the health field. Chiropractors and holistic medical care practices have been successfully using Digital Thermographic Cameras as diagnostic tools for decades.

The encouraging news is that now many medical doctors and clinical care centers have added this important diagnostic tool to their procedures. Since every organ in our body reflects itself on the skin surface, it makes a great deal of sense to utilize a tool that can detect an unusual formation of blood vessels that is causing the tissues to heat up, indicating the possible presence of disease processes.

The Digital Thermographic Camera can detect a problem before symptoms become apparent, enabling early intervention and proactive treatment. The procedure is simple and non-invasive. Today, nearly 1 in 7 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. We know that prevention and early detection are key. Mammograms are an important diagnostic tool, but should not be thought of as the only one. It takes ten years for cancer to show up on a mammogram whereas a Digital Thermographic Camera can detect an abnormality in its very earliest stages.

Thermogram of Breast Cancer examinationThermograms are valuable for women who have a history of breast cancer in their families because they can be given early and continued on a regular basis to monitor any changes in the thermal image. Thermograms are important for post-menopausal women since imaging can detect hormonal imbalances. Such imbalances if allowed to persist are known to be a significant risk factor in breast cancer.

All woman should consider thermography as part of an annual physical, since images produced by a Digital Thermographic Camera have the unique ability to produce an individual thermal fingerprint of a woman’s breast that can be reviewed over the course of years to search for any indication of possible tumors or other abnormalities.

Thermography is successfully applied not just in breast examination but also in determining the existence of potential disease processes because a Digital Thermographic Camera can produce images that provide a personal profile of a patient’s most stressed organs and patterns of dysfunctional relationships between them. Given that such an inclusive diagnostic tool exists, tested and approved by government regulators and an increasing number of medical doctors, it is more and more important that we include it in our quest for optimum health care.
